CHARLOTTE, N.C. Sept 20 2011– Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they found a cross-dressing man masturbating near a bush at a bus stop for Berryhill Elementary Monday morning.
William Sherrill Newell, 60, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony indecent exposure, one count of misdemeanor indecent exposure, and one count of misdemeanor public masturbation.
Police say Newell was wearing a skirt and CMPD chased him from the bush. Newell was living with his 88-year-old mother and he ran into the home. Police eventually talked him out of the house where he was arrested.
Newell is being held under a $6,000 bond.
