LEBANON OH Oct 28 2011 — A former physical education teacher was found guilty of having sex with five former students.
Stacy Schuler, was sentenced to 48 months in prison by Warren County Judge Robert Peeler, who announced his decision Thursday afternoon after a four-day bench trial. He told a packed courtroom that while he believes Schuler suffers psychological and substance abuse issues, he couldn’t buy her insanity defense.
“Your attorneys have made a valiant and compelling arguments on your behalf,” Peeler said. “But I cannot make that magnificent leap required to accept the proposition that at the time of the commission of the offense you did not know, because of severe mental disease or defect the wrongfulness of your acts.”
Schuler gave five former students alcohol and had sex with them in her Springboro home in the fall of 2010, according to testimonies given during the trial. The five young men gave graphic, detailed, accounts of the exploits at Schuler’s home. One said sex with Schuler was initiated on a kitchen counter and two others talked about sex they had with Schuler in her shower, several said they had repeated group sex in her bed.
Drinking and smoking marijuana at the teacher’s home were involved in most instances.
Assistant Prosecutor Teresa Hiett asked the judge to delay the sentencing because some of the victims’ parents weren’t present but wanted to address the court. Peeler said they knew the verdict was going to be reached on Thursday and since he already knew Schuler had no past criminal history and was generally well regarded by all who knew her, he didn’t see the need to delay sentencing.
Schuler was charged with 16 counts of sexual battery and three misdemeanor counts for the alcohol offenses and faced a maximum of 81 years in prison. Peeler gave her 48 months with the possibility of judicial release from prison in six months.

This world is full of vicious hate and Stacy Schuler was hated into four years of jail. She made a mistake or an error and this error needs to be corrected and jail is not the answer. I scream from the highest tree “Help her, don’t jail her “……Jesus……Leonard Brodt
