North Charleston Police officer arrested in bar fight www.privateofficer.com
JOHNS ISLAND, SC Nov 30 2011 - Authorities say a North Charleston Police officer suspected of punching a man in the face at a bar on Johns Island turned himself over to authorities Monday.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office charged 30-year-old Brandon Allen with third-degree assault. The North Charleston Police Department says that Allen has been placed on unpaid leave.
On Saturday at 1:55 a.m., Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Southside 17 bar at 3632 Savannah Hwy in reference to a disturbance and assault.
Upon arrival, deputies met with the 36-year-old victim who said that he was at the bar when someone came up to him and punched him in the face causing a cut to the victim’s nose.
According to investigators, the suspect had left the location and was later identified as Allen.
A warrant was then obtained on Allen for assault. On Monday, Allen turned himself in to Charleston County authorities and was arrested on the warrant.
