Ballston Spa Central School District teacher arrested in federal child porn operation www.privateofficer.com
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y.Dec 12 2011 — Authorities say a music teacher at an upstate New York school is accused of possessing child pornography.
Prosecutors say Ballston Spa Central School District teacher Timothy Brehmer was arrested in a federal operation after being identified through his computer’s IP address.
The Albany Times-Union (http://bit.ly/rtrYc7) reported Friday that court papers showed a laptop seized from the 35-year-old Broadalbin resident contained pornographic images and video of children.
The elementary school teacher was released by a federal court pending a hearing Dec. 27.
A man who answered a phone number listed for Brehmer declined to comment Saturday night.
Schools Superintendent Joseph P. Dragone said in a letter to parents that Brehemer was suspended without pay and barred from school property.
He was arrested during a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation.
