RICHMOND, VA Dec 27 2011 – A manhunt ended Monday afternoon for a 27-year-old double homicide suspect wanted for a Christmas Eve shooting.

Richmond Police, the US Marshals Task Force and the SWAT Team pulled Jamal Louis Clemons from a house in the 2300 block of Bethel Street in Whitcomb Court just before 4:30 p.m.

Law enforcement, acting on an anonymous tip, arrived at the house just after 3 p.m.

At one point, officers used a megaphone to demand Clemons come outside. They made the announcement repeatedly before storming inside the home.

Officers said Clemens surrendered once police entered the home.

The location of the house is about three miles from North 33th Street, where the shootings took place. It is also about a mile away from the cemetery where a stolen SUV with a 2-year-old inside was found abandoned.

Clemons, of the 700 block of North 35th Street, is wanted for abduction, three counts of robbery, three counts of robbery with a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony by a convicted felon. Police said they will also seek upgraded charges relating to the homicide.

Court records indicate Clemons has a lengthy rap sheet, filled with charges of cocaine possession, intent to distribute, identity theft and assault and battery.

Additionally, officials released the names of the two shooting victims on Sunday.

Edward Lee Bowmer Jr., 60, and Robin Sheryl Clapp, 56, were found dead in the 800 block of North 35th Street. They had both been shot.

Police said that the 2-year-old boy Kaiden Burnside, who was abducted, is not related to either of the two victims.

Meanwhile, a Church Hill restaurant is assisting two men who also live at the house and were displaced after the shooting.

Millie’s Diner in Church Hill is spearheading the effort to collect money, furniture, toiletries and other items for the pair.

Donations are being accepted at Millie’s Diner, located at 2603 East Main Street Richmond, VA 23223. Here’s a link to their Facebook page.
