Clive Iowa police officer charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse www.privateofficer.com

 
 

Clive IA Feb 26 2012 A 24-year veteran of the Clive police department has been arrested and charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse no injury.

Lt. John Brodersen, 47, was placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. The offense date listed is Jan. 27, according to online court records. He was charged yesterday, according to the records.

A press release issued this afternoon by Clive police indicates the alleged incident occurred at a private residence in the Dallas County portion of Clive. According to the press release, Brodersen, while off duty, ”had inappropriate physical contact with a female victim.”

Clive officials on Jan. 31 asked Altoona police to investigate the complaint.

Chief Robert Cox said Brodersen was placed on leave effective today. He directed all questions regarding the charge to the Dallas County Attorney’s Office. County Attorney Wayne Reisetter is unavailable until Monday.

According to Clive police’s web site, Brodersen is the Uniform Patrol Commander and responsible for the operations of patrol services and jail administration. He is also the department’s spokesman.

Brodersen is a 1985 graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and is a 2007 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
