Hemet High School teacher charged with sexually assaulting student on campus www.privateofficer.com
Riverside CA March 3 2012 Investigators say a high school teacher has been arrested for having sex with a student on a Southern California campus.
Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Wally Clear says 31-year-old Janel Ramirez, a ninth grade English teacher at Hemet High School, was arrested on Thursday for investigation of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
The age of the student hasn’t been disclosed.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise ( http://bit.ly/xsEXZs) says investigators notified the Hemet Unified School District on Wednesday night that a teacher may have had sex with the teenager on campus in December.
The district then notified Child Protective Services.
District officials would not say if Ramirez was placed on leave.
The school district notified parents about the allegations on Thursday afternoon.
