Rockford school guard pleads guilty to sexual abuse of student www.privateofficer.com
Shaun George, 33, entered the plea Tuesday to Judge Rosemary Collins.
On Nov. 19, 2010, the principal of East reported to police that there was a possible inappropriate sexual relationship between George, a guard at the school, and a 15-year-old student.
George is accused of sending inappropriate emails soliciting a student to have a relationship with him. During the course of the investigation authorities learned of a sexual relationship between George and a 17-year-old.
Indecent solicitation and aggravated criminal sexual abuse are Class 2 felonies punishable by three to seven years in prison. The sentences can run concurrently or consecutively at the discretion of the judge.
George is being held in the Winnebago County Jail on $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to be sentenced by Collins at 1:30 p.m. May 16.
