Nebraska teacher charged with sexual assault on students www.privateofficer.com
Ralston NE April 8 2012 A teacher in the Omaha suburb of Ralston has been arrested on suspicion of inappropriately touching some students.
Police say 58-year-old Nicholas Richter is charged with three counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child. Police Chief Ronald Murtaugh says the students were part of an elementary program with Richter, who works at Seymour Elementary School.
Police say a call to a child abuse hotline prompted the investigation. Richter was arrested on Thursday and booked in the Douglas County jail.
School superintendent Jerald Riibe says an internal investigation is under way and the district is cooperating with police.
Richter’s case is not listed on the online court system, and it’s not known if he has an attorney.
