College Park MD bouncer charged with serious assault on US Air Force member www.privateofficer.com
The 23-year-old airman was trying to reenter R.J. Bentley’s on Route 1 over the weekend after being thrown out of the bar for tossing his drink on another customer, according to Prince George’s County police. The bouncer, 28-year-old Marcus Plummer, allegedly choked the airman and threw him to the ground, police said.
Both men stand about 6-feet-2-inches tall, but the bouncer weighs about 400 pounds, News4’s Pat Collins reported. The airman weighs less than 200 pounds.
The airman remains in critical condition.
“Our first concern is for the young man who was involved in this accident,” said John Brown of R.J. Bentley’s. “We are currently working with Prince George’s County police to gather as much information as possible so that we can ascertain exactly what happened Saturday night.”
Plummer was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment and was released on $50,000 bond.
