Reno NV May 4 2012 Police have a man behind bars after shoplifting Wednesday evening.
Police responded to the Gateway Inn on Stardust Street around 5:15 a.m. There, they learned 19-year old Christopher Frye had been trying to shoplift from the Save Mart on Keystone Avenue.
They say two security officers working in the store stopped Frye and tried to detain him for police. Frye reportedly pulled a knife out and began swinging at the security officers. A cashier ran to help, and police say Frye swung the knife at her as well before running out of the store.
Police say a customer watching all this tried to stop Frye as he left the store, but was stabbed in the shoulder.
Frye then ran to the Gateway Inn where police soon arrested Frye on robbery, battery with a deadly weapon and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
The customer who was stabbed was treated at the scene for minor injuries and was later released.
