CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. May 8 2012 – Police arrested a Canadian man who traveled to Virginia to see a 14-year-old girl he met on Facebook, according to Chesterfield Police Lt. Randy Horowitz.
Keith Veecock, 20, is charged with two counts of use of electronic means for child sex crime and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Lt. Horowitz said even though Veecock never touched the child, he did propose the two engage in “indecent acts” and that was enough to justify the charge.
The girl’s parents saw Facebook and text messages between the two and alerted police. The two had been in communication for several weeks, Lt. Horowitz said.
Detectives arrested Veecock when he landed at Richmond International Airport on Friday. Richmond Airport police, U.S. Customs, Homeland Security and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force participated in the arrest, according to a Chesterfield police press release.
Veecock, who is being held in Chesterfield jail without bond, is due in court Monday afternoon.
