Valley High School campus supervisor arrested for engaging in sex with minor www.privateofficer.com
Sacramento CA May 9 2012 A campus supervisor at Valley High School in the Elk Grove Unified School District has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sex with a minor.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department reported that Sean Darnell Davis (pictured), 42, was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail late Monday evening. He is accused of engaging in multiple unlawful sex acts with a minor.
He was released from jail this afternoon on his own recognizance, said Sacramento County sheriff’s Deputy Jason Ramos.
Sheriff’s officials said Davis is believed to have maintained an ongoing sexual relationship with the female victim from the beginning of the school year in August 2011 until February of this year, when the victim was 17 years old.
School district spokeswoman Elizabeth Graswich said Davis has been a campus supervisor at the Valley High campus since he was hired by the district in 2008. She said he passed a state Department of Justice background check, based on fingerprints, when he was hired. As a campus supervisor, Davis served as the “eyes and ears” of the campus, making sure students were in class and monitoring the campus during the lunch period, Graswich said.
She said Davis was placed on paid administrative leave Monday when the district learned of the allegations. Letters were being sent home with students today informing parents of the matter, she said.
Detectives believe Davis may have had inappropriate sexual contact with other minors, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department’s Sexual and Elder Assault bureau at (916) 874-5070.
