St. Luke’s Healthcare security officer assaulted www.privateofficer.com
Brian A. Brewczynski, 26, of Herkimer, was charged with second-degree assault, a class D Felony and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor, following an incident that occurred on May 22 in the hospital’s Emergency Department, according to New Hartford Police.
While being treated, Brewczynski reportedly attacked a hospital security officer and attempted to use medical equipment as a weapon against the officer, police said.
The officer suffered injuries to his face and neck that required medical treatment, police said.
Brewczynski was reported to have been under the influence of “Bath Salts” at the time of the attack, police said.
He was arrested on a warrant by the New Hartford Police and was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court. Brewczynski was committed to Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He will return to court on a later date.
