Linden NJ Sam’s Club security finds dead body in car www.privateofficer.com

LINDEN NJ July 18 2012 — The Homicide Task Force of the Union County Prosecutor’s office is investigating the suspicious death of a body found in a parked car in the parking lot of Sam’s Club, according to Linden Lt. James Sarnicki.

Sarnicki stated a call to Linden police was received at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Monday by a Sam’s Club security officer who said he received a complaint from a shopper about “a foul smelling odor from a car in the parking lot.”

Once on the scene, the police found a deceased male in the driver’s side of the car, which is believed to have out-of-state license plates, according to Sarnicki.

The identification of the person was not revealed, pending notification of next of kin.

Sarnicki said the body is being examined by the Union County medical examiner to determine the time and cause of death. The Homicide Task Force is also reviewing security footage from the parking lot to determine how long the vehicle may have been parked there, he added.
