Safeway security officer stabbed trying to stop shoplifter www.privateofficer.com
Seattle WA July 24 2012 A security officer at a Ballard Safeway store was stabbed in the ear with a knife late Saturday while attempting to detain a shoplifter, according to Seattle police.
At 11:57 p.m., the security officer confronted a shoplifting suspect at the Safeway at 14th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Market Street, police said.
The officer was stabbed in the ear as he attemped to keep the suspect in the store. Police arrested the suspect about four blocks away; the man was booked into the King County Jail.
Seattle police did not release details about the seriousness of the security officer’s injuries.
