Armed, masked men try to rob armored truck at West Palm Beach bank www.privateofficer.com
West Palm Beach Fla Nov 29 2012 Police are investigating the attempted robbery of armored car at a West Palm Beach bank by several armed and masked people, West Palm Beach police spokesman Capt. David Bernhart said.
A man who was dropped off at St. Mary’s Medical Center with a gunshot wound in the mouth is being detained and questioned by police in relation to the crime, Bernhardt said.
The armored car was parked at the Bank of America at 5701 Village Boulevard about 7:10 a.m. when “several” armed and masked men tried to rob it, Bernhardt said.
The car’s guard fired at the suspects, Bernhardt said.
The bank is just north of 45th Street and east of Military Trail. Police searched the area for more than an hour before ending it with no arrests.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was contacted and will be working on the investigation, Bernhardt said.
