Two women arrested in Ann Arbor assault on bouncers www.privateofficer.com
Ann Arbor MI Dec 2 2012 Two people, including a woman who spit in a police officer’s face, were arrested after fighting with bar bouncers in Ann Arbor early Friday, police said.
A manager’s fingers were broken during one of the scuffles, another manager said. In that incident, a 19-year-old Ann Arbor man was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. Friday outside Scorekeepers Sports Grill and Pub, 310 Maynard St., after he hit a 24-year-old male bouncer in the face, Ann Arbor police said.
Michael Goodwin, a manager at Scorekeepers, said the man also roughly grabbed the hand of another manager, breaking two fingers. Goodwin said the man had become unruly outside the bar, and the manager had gone outside to try to calm him down when the incident occurred.
In the second incident, a 22-year-old Ypsilanti woman was arrested about 1:45 a.m. after she fought with a bouncer and spit in an Ann Arbor police officer’s face, police said.
Police were called to the Necto bar at 516 E. Liberty St. and upon arriving saw a woman hitting a man with her fists outside the bar and saw him push her away, causing her to fall to the ground.
As officers were arresting her, she refused to cooperate, they said, and spit in an officer’s face as they escorted her to the patrol car.
The bouncer, a 25-year-old man, told police the woman fought with staff inside the bar and began hitting him as he escorted her outside. The woman was held at the Washtenaw Countyjail.
