FRANKLIN TN Dec 22 2012— Franklin Police have recovered upwards of $20,000 in merchandise shoplifted from CoolSprings Galleria since Black Friday.
Working closely with security, undercover officers have made 55 arrests in the operation dubbed “Not in Our Mall.”
On Monday officers arrested 31-year-old Lacey Locke of Murfreesboro and allegedly recovered nearly $3,000 in stolen merchandise from her car. Undercover officers recognized Locke as the same woman who allegedly stole more than $700 worth of perfume and designer handbags Saturday. That theft wasn’t discovered until after Locke had gotten away with the stolen goods and clerks found empty boxes she left behind, police said. After reviewing the video, security and police recognized Locke when she returned to the mall last night. Officers also arrested Rodney Hutson, who was with her last night. Hutson was wanted by Metro Police on unrelated charges.
Locke, charged with felony theft, remains in custody on a $3,500 bond. She is also wanted by Sumner County authorities on unrelated charges. Locke is due in Williamson County Court 2 p.m. Jan. 3.
Uniformed and undercover officers will continue with operation “Not in Our Mall” throughout the remainder of the holiday shopping season.
