Suspected Shoplifter Dies in Police Chase www.privateofficer.com

A police chase has ended with one person dead and several others injured.
Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls III says that a 19-year-old woman died Thursday after her vehicle hit a pick up truck and crashed into a tree. Her name hasn’t been released.
The woman was one of several people suspected of shoplifting from a Beaufort County mall and was a passenger in a vehicle that would not pull over during the police chase.
Authorities say the woman was 1 of 4 people in a car fleeing Beaufort County deputies. A clerk at a Bluffton outlet mall was assaulted as he tried to keep four shoplifting suspects from leaving.
Three people ran from the car and were later arrested.
The driver, Craig Scott, has been charged with reckless homicide. He and two passengers were also charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
