Copperhead Road Saloon shooting leaves one dead www.privateofficer.com
Colorado CO Jan 5 2013 The “21 year old party” has been identified as the suspect in this shooting and has died. The cause and manner will have to be determined by the Coroner’s Office following an autopsy tomorrow. We do not have anyone in custody, nor are we seeking anyone at this point. The investigation is on-going and under the DA’s review.
On Friday, January 04, 2013, at approximately 1:54AM, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service involving shots fired at 3330 N. Academy Blvd, The Copperhead Road Saloon.
Upon Officers arrival, a 21 year old male party was located who was suffering from a gunshot wound. This party was transported to an area hospital where he is currently being treated for a serious life threatening injury.
Colorado Springs Major Crimes Unit responded and is in the process of investigating this incident. At this time, all parties involved are known to police and this does not appear to be a random incident. We do not anticipate that there is any danger to the community regarding this incident.
There are no suspects in custody at the time of this release.
