A Mississippi State Trooper finds himself on the other side of the law after being arrested Monday and charged with statutory rape.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office, a judge issued a warrant for Otis Taylor, who works out of the Mississippi Highway Patrol’s Brookhaven substation. Warren Strain, Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman, says Taylor has served with the highway patrol for just more than five years.
Strain adds, “Taylor has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcomes of an investigation into the charges filed against him.”
Taylor was taken into custody Monday. He’s being held in the Franklin County jail on $50,000 bond. Circumstances surrounding the alleged crime have not been released.
