Normandy School District bus driver accused of sexual contact with student www.privateofficer.com
ST. LOUIS COUNTY MO Jan 10 2013- A Normandy School District bus driver is accused of sexual contact with a student at Normandy Middle School.
The school district released a statement Wednesday saying they were notified Monday by the Missouri Department of Social Services, Children’s Division about the allegation.
Superintendent Dr. Stanton E. Lawrence says the bus driver has been removed from his route and placed on administrative leave until a decision regarding his employment is made.
Major Tony Madigan with the Normandy Police Department says the driver is identified as 26-year-old Shawn McNeil of Breckenridge Hills.
McNeil has been charged with second-degree statutory sodomy and sexual contact on school grounds.
Dr. Lawrence says state and federal background checks were conducted on McNeil before employment.
At this time the district is not aware of any allegations involving other students.
McNeil is held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
