St. Mary Parish deputy killed, 2 others wounded by gunman www.privateofficer.com

ST. MARY PARISH LA Jan 26 2013 – Two St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies are in critical condition and one is dead after a shooting in St. Mary Parish, according to Louisiana State Police Tpr. Stephen Hammons.

Hammons says three deputies responded to a call of a fire at a residence. Upon arriving the deputies encountered an armed man. The man then fired shots at the deputies.

One deputy died on scene, one was transported to a hospital in New Orleans and the other was transported to a hospital in Lafayette, according to Hammons.
