Shoplifter threatens Safeway security guards www.privateofficer.com
Mesa AZ March 2 2013 A Mesa man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting and aggravated assault after police said he stole items from a store and attacked employees with a concrete block when they confronted him.
Police said Faro Bluewater Jones, 26, shoplifted a container of ice cream and a bottle of vodka from a Mesa Safeway Grocery Store, 1960 W. Main St.
According to a court document, Jones hid the items in his backpack and walked out of the store but security guards stopped him and recovered the lost items. When he ran away, they pursued him until he picked up a broken piece of concrete the size of a brick and began chasing them, holding the brick over his head, police said. Jones dropped the block and tried running away when he saw police arrive, according to a court document. Police said Jones was intoxicated and uncooperative. He will face a shoplifting charge and an aggravated assault charge, police said.
