Police shoot-kill woman who stole ambulance www.privateofficer.com

PLACERVILLE, Calif. March 30 2010–

A woman was killed in an officer-involved shooting following a police pursuit in Placerville on Sunday.

Placerville Police Department said officers received a call at about 10:12 a.m. of a stolen ambulance from Marshall Hospital on the 1000 block of Marshall Way in Placerville.

An El Dorado County Ambulance M26 was taken from the hospital by a patient, police said.

Three officers engaged the woman, in her 40s, in a short pursuit that ended at the top of a driveway on the 3000 block of Cedar Ravine Road.

There was an officer-involved shooting at the end of the pursuit when police said the woman rammed three police cars prompting officers to fire three to five shots.

The identity of the woman has not yet been released.
