The men arrested were Ralphael Turner, 20, Justin Howard, 22, Jeffrey Dale Foxx, 20, and Cedric Peppers, 26. Ronald Deshawn Roseman was charged in Juvenile Court because he was 17 years old at the time of the murder.
Peppers and Rosemen were arrested on Friday. Tuner, Howard and Fox were already in jail on unrelated charges.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on July 9 at a home on Maury Street just south of downtown. Police said the five broke into the home to commit a robbery.
According to police, they busted into the home through a back door and shot 12-year-old Mikia several times as she tried to run away.
The family said that the grandmother, Shannon Hooten, and Mikia’s father are the only adults in the home. They also said there are other children who live in the home and could have easily been a victim as well.
Mikia was taken to Vanderbilt where she was pronounced dead. Her family said she was a student at Dodson Elementary School and loved to sing and dance.
