Darius Ali Jr., 25, of Pennington Avenue, was indicted on charges of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child in April 2010. In June 2009 Ali was working at the school when he forced the student to perform a sex act on him, officials said.
He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of sexual assault in a plea deal offered by Assistant Prosecutor Renee Robeson.
In addition to the probation, Robeson said, he is barred from ever working around children again. Mercer County Superior Court Judge Thomas Sumners, in approving the plea deal, also ordered Ali not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18, except his own children, and not to have contact with the victim.
Robeson said Ali has no prior criminal record.
