N.C. Police Officer Arrested For Making Phoney Money http://www.privateofficer.com

http://www.privateofficer.com/ Local and federal authorities say that they have arrested a law enforcement officer after conducting an in investigation against an area police officer.

A Holly Springs North Carolina police officer was arrested Monday night and charged with forging cash,

According to Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said, an officer identified as Bruce Renard Green was charged with uttering a forged instrument, forgery of notes, checks and other securities, and felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Green, 27, of 805 Nightshade Way in Raleigh, resigned Tuesday from his position with the Holly Spring police, a town spokesman said.

He had been with the force for more than two years.

The U.S. Secret Service worked with Raleigh police in the investigation, which stemmed from an Aug. 5 arrest of two men who were passing counterfeit bills.

City detectives and federal agents tracked the bills back to Green.

“We will continue to work with federal authorities,” Sughrue said.

“If federal charges appear to be more appropriate they could supplant the state charges.”

Green is being held until a bond released is met.
