Riverside County CA Dec 31 2011 Formal charges have been brought against a Murrieta man for allegedly carrying on a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old former middle school student of his.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has charged James Pinckard, 56, with 13 counts of unlawful sex with a minor more than three years younger. He is also charged with one count of oral copulation with a minor and indecent exposure.

Pinckard has been out on bail following his Nov. 3 arrest when Murrieta police allege they found him and the female victim parked in his van behind an industrial complex. Read more about the circumstances surrounding his arrest here.

Murrieta police investigators allege the victim was a former student of his at James L. Day Middle School in Temecula. He has since resigned from his position.

Pinckard is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 3 at the Southwest Justice Center, when he is expected to plead guilty or not guilty to the charges.
