Jamie Lynn Avant, 28, was booked into the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center on one count of sexual battery. Bond was set at $30,000.
No further information on the sexual battery charge was immediately available.
Avant was charged in May 2009 with false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon after she was accused of picking up a 15-year-old girl, driving her to a secluded dirt road and threatening her with a gun.
According to an arrest report, the victim told her mother that Avant had picked her up at her home and drove her to a secluded dirt road off Louisiana 15.
The arrest report states the victim said Avant told her to get out of the car and to get down on her knees. Avant then reportedly pulled a gun from under a blanket and yelled at the victim, “If I can’t have you, no one can!”
According to the arrest report, the victim said she begged for her life and Avant relented and drove her back to a subdivision in West Monroe after she promised not to tell anyone about the incident.
Before the reported incident, Avant had received a certified letter giving notice of her termination from employment at West Ridge Middle School. The termination had nothing to do with the reported incident, school officials have reported.
