Hamilton County TN corresctions officer arrested www.privateofficer.com
A corrections officer with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was arrested over the weekend and charged with sexual battery.
Police received a call around 2 a.m. on Saturday and responded to the Palms Club at 6925 Shallowford Road where they spoke with the victim. She advised that while dancing on the dance floor, she was approached by the suspect, Jerry Melbert.
At some point during their brief conversation, the victim said Melbert zipped up her top and stuck his hand into her blouse. The victim and her husband immediately alerted security who escorted Melbert from the club.
The victim contacted police to report the incident, but Melbert was not on the scene when they arrived. After speaking with the victim and other witnesses on the scene, police obtained warrants in the case.
Melbert was subsequently charged on the warrant.
