Texas alarm company sales rep wanted for sexual assault www.privateofficer.com

LA PORTE, Texas May 5 2012- Police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to sexually assault a woman in La Porte.

Johnny Lara, 23, sold alarms door-to-door for Bulldog Security.

Workers must go through a background check for a state license. Police said Lara had a license, but it had been suspended when he allegedly attacked the woman in La Porte two weeks ago.

He said, ‘I want to have sex with you one time,’” the victim said. “He was grabbing my butt and trying to go up to the private areas. I was fighting him and pushing his hands off.”

Lara had to pass a background check in August 2011 to get private security contractors license. According to the Department of Public Safety, he shouldn’t have gotten a state license if he’d previously been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or above.

According to Harris County records, Lara was convicted on twice for class-B misdemeanors — once for marijuana possession in 2009 and once in 2008 for interfering with a public servant. He was also convicted of a more serious class a offense, evading detention.

Department of Public Safety officials are trying to figure out how Lara obtained a license.

A spokesman for Bulldog Security said the company wasn’t aware of Lara’s license being suspended. He he said the company fired Lara two weeks ago, after learning of the La Porte allegations.

La Porte police have issued a warrant for Lara’s arrest on a felony charge of attempted sexual assault charges.
