WESTAMPTON PA May 17 2011 — A Florence man was charged with assaulting a security guard Saturday after attempting to shoplift items from the Home Depot store on Burlington-Mount Holly Road, police
According to investigators, Joseph P. Zluky, 48, was confronted by the guard in the parking lot at around 4 p.m. after he attempted to shoplifting several items from the store. Zluky refused to stop and then assaulted the guard
as he unsuccessfully tried to flee the scene. He was arrested a short time later by responding police officers.
Zluky was charged was robbery, simple assault and shoplifting and lodged in Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly. His bail was set at $50,000.
Zluky previously served close to nine years in state prison for a 2000 robbery conviction in Camden. He was released from prison in December 2009
