Deputy sheriff dies while working security www.privateofficer.com

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL March 28 2010 (KFVS/AP) – A St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputy is dead after collapsing at an East St. Louis train station.

Fifty-five-year-old Lamont Reid was pronounced dead at a St. Louis hospital on Friday. Cause of death has not been determined.

Reid was a 20-year veteran of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department. He was working at his second job as a security guard for MetroLink when he collapsed.

St. Clair County Sheriff Mearl Justus called Reid “a cop’s cop” and the kind of employee that every boss wants.
