Metairie LA May 2 2012 State Police have booked a Metairie security guard with impersonating a police officer by using flashing lights to stop a motorist on Interstate 10. The victim, an unidentified man, told investigators he was eastbound near Causeway Boulevard in Metairie on April 14 when he noticed a car behind him with flashing red and blue lights on the dashboard, according to Frank Heuer’s arrest report.

The victim slowed to the right side of the highway. But instead of stopping, the other driver pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle then drove off.

The victim recorded the car’s license plate number and gave that information to the State Police.

A trooper used the number to track down Heuer, 56, of 2505 Aleatha St., said Trooper Melissa Matey, spokeswoman for Troop B. The trooper confirmed that Heuer is a security guard, not a police officer, and is not authorized to have or use red and blue emergency lights, she said.

Heuer was booked Monday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna with false personation of a peace officer. Bond was set at $3,500, but he was released without bond because of jail crowding.
