ATLANTA GA OCT 17 2008 — A Grady Hospital patient told police she was sexually assaulted while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The 37-year-old alleged victim said Moses Tweneboah kissed and fondled her while she underwent treatment for a gunshot wound, and that Tweneboah forced her to do the same to him.
The patient, who had been shot in the throat, wrote a note to police detailing the alleged assault because she could not speak.
Channel 2 obtained a copy of the police report, which stated Tweneboah, 58, kissed the victim and fondled her breast without her consent.
The victim said the assault ended after Tweneboah told her he would be back for more sexual gratification.
According to the police report, Tweneboah kissed the patient on her forehead.
“It’s just utterly shocking,” said Alan Armstrong.
Armstrong couldn’t believe the allegations.
Former Grady worker Tacuma Jawara is accused of stealing Armstrong’s deceased wife’s rings when she was transported to the hospital after a violent car crash.
Armstrong said he believes the thefts and latest allegations stem from a lack of leadership at the hospital.
“Leadership drives the culture for an organization. And the people who should be most outraged by this are the 95 percent of the Grady employees who are hard working decent people. Those are the people who should be clamoring for the administration to step up and show some leadership,” said Armstrong.
A spokesperson for Grady Hospital said they conducted a background check on Tweneboah before his was hired and that it came back clean.
Tweneboah bonded out of jail. Channel 2 could not reach Tweneboah for comment. He was immediately terminated by Grady after the allegations came to light.
