THOMASVILLE, N.C.May 8 2012 - Five High Point women face charges after Thomasville Police said at least $1,200 in merchandise was stolen from a Kmart.
Naketa Gainey, Disequae Pittman, Eva Slaton, Canicia Slaton and Delonia Slaton were all charged with possession of stolen merchandise, organized retail theft and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Thomasville Police said the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Saturday at the Kmart at 1122 Randolph St.
Police said a store security guard was pepper-sprayed by two women, who then fled the store in a vehicle containing three other women.
Stolen items included lawn tools, lawn equipment, hardware, clothing, perfumes, and other household items, police said.
Police said they recovered about $1,200 worth of items stolen from Kmart, and more property was taken from the suspect vehicle.
All were held on secured bonds and are scheduled to appear in court May 30.
