Virginia Beach VA Dec 28 2011 A Christmas day burglar hit a closed Walmart store but police report that they have arrested the man.
On December 25, 2011, at approximately 1:44 a.m., the suspect gained entry into the Walmart store located at 657 Phoenix Drive.
Police say the suspect gained entry through the garden center and then forced his way into the store. The suspect made his way to the electronic section and broke into several glass cases.
There, police say that the suspect loaded up on electronics and games.
The burglary was not discovered until employees returned to work later in the evening.
Walmart personnel checked their video surveillance video and recoginized the man and notified police.
The suspect identified as 28-year-old Fred Johnson, Jr., of the 700 block of Wiley Drive in Norfolk was arrested at his residence and has been charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny.
Johnson is currently being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
