An Orange County elementary school teacher is under arrest after police said she abused two handicapped students.

Patricia LaMantia was arrested Thursday on two counts of child abuse.

The 56-year-old is a teacher at Dream Lake Elementary School.

According to police reports, LaMantia made one student slap herself multiple times until the student needed a bag of ice from the school nurse.
On another occasion, police said LaMantia grabbed another student’s face and pushed it back until the student cried.

However, they said Principal Gary Schadow told them two handicapped students were hurt.
