A witness reported the touching Thursday at the Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center and police investigators reviewed video surveillance.
Lt. Sue Shultz says the man worked with the girl at the school.
The Kitsap Sun reports the 62-year-old man was arrested Friday for investigation of indecent liberties. He’s held in the Kitsap County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Three people were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly stealing from Port Orchard stores to support a drug habit.
A man and a woman were spotted leaving through the side door of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at about 8:30 p.m., carrying a blue tote bag. They left the parking lot in a white Ford Explorer.
A short time later, a sheriff’s deputy saw the car at Wal-Mart on Bethel Road. The driver jumped out near the tire center, returned and took off quickly, according to the police report. The deputy followed the car to Lowe’s on Sedgwick, where the man tried to leave the closed garden section with some items but couldn’t get out. He left the store empty-handed.
The car was pulled over just after 9 p.m. and a blue tote and other items were found in the back.
A 33-year-old Tacoma woman said stayed in the passenger seat while her boyfriend, a 35-year-old Tacoma man, went into the Rite Aid store. She claimed that she didn’t know what he was doing, but later admitted that they relied on shoplifting to support her drug habit.
Another passenger, a 40-year-old Lakewood man, had a warrant from the Department of Corrections for escape. He claimed not to know about the shoplifting.
The woman was booked into the Kitsap County jail on suspicion of first-degree theft. She was released on personal recognizance. Both men were booked on suspicion of first-degree theft and second-degree possession of stolen property with bail set at $60,000 each
