Pike County AL Aug 2 2012 A former Troy Police officer is charged with committing multiple sex crimes on a child younger than 12 years old.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation and Pike County Sheriff’s Office arrested 61-year-old Willie Toney, a recently-retired member of the Troy Police Department, on Wednesday and charged him with first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
According to a press release from Attorney General Luther Strange’s office, all the alleged crimes were perpetrated on a child younger than 12.

Toney is being held at the Pike County Jail.
The case is being prosecuted by assistant attorneys general Kelly Hawkins and Stephanie Billingslea of the attorney general’s criminal trials division.
According to the release, if Toney is convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of life in prison for each count of first-degree rape and sodomy, and up to 20 years in prison for each count of first-degree sexual abuse.
The Troy Police Department declined to comment on the matter Wednesday evening.
Representatives of Strange’s office could not be reached for comment.
