University of South Alabama police arrest 1, search for second suspect in robbery www.privateofficer.com

 

MOBILE, Alabama May 1 2012  – University of South Alabama police have arrested 1 suspect in an armed robbery and are searching for a second suspect, according to a press release from the school. 

The Mobile campus went into lockdown at about 3 p.m. today, and the lockdown was lifted about 8 p.m.

USA police said that a student in Delta 4 residence hall reported he was robbed at gunpoint by 2 people he invited to his room. Neither suspect is believed to be a University of South Alabama student, according to the USA police release. 

“The two individuals robbed him of approximately $1,000 and his cell phone and fled. A shot was fired but no one was injured,” states the release. 

South Alabama police arrested one suspect, but continue to search for a second suspect, who is believed to have left campus. 

“The remaining suspect is described as a black male, thin build, dark complexion and a short Afro hairstyle,” states the release.
