http://www.privateofficer.com/ A security officer shot one of three robbers in South Los Angeles, police said Saturday.
Three men were robbing a pedestrian at Broadway and 48th Street about 10:30 p.m. Friday, when a security officer who was in the area saw the crime and confronted the bandits, Los Angeles police Sgt. Guillermo Perez said.
The security officer ordered the men to stop and then fired a shot, wounding one of the suspects as the trio fled in a vehicle, Perez said.
Police responding to the call chased the vehicle, stopping the suspects at about 11 p.m., he said.
LAPD officers say that the robber who had been shot was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he was said to have stable vital signs, Perez said. The other two men who have yet to be identified, were arrested, he said.
Detectives were working to link the men to another robbery that occurred about 6:30 p.m. in another LAPD patrol area, Perez said. Details of that holdup were unavailable.
LAPD did not release the name of the security officer involved but said that he was not injured during the incident.
