Three employees of Dave and Busters in Mission Valley were shot after an altercation with customers early Sunday morning. After a disturbance inside the restaurant, security officers ejected a group of customers, police said.
When the suspects were escorted outside the building a fight ensued.
“The security officers used pepper spray to quell the situation,” Lt. Ken Hubbs of the San Diego Police Department said.
The suspects, three men and one woman, then went to their vehicles, but they did not leave quietly.
“As they were driving out, one of the occupants of one of the vehicles displayed a pistol and fired a number of rounds,” Hubbs said.
Of the three employees injured, two were security officers and one was an assistant manager. Police said one man’s injury was serious. He was sent to Sharp Hospital. He is expected to survive.
“The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority, and we are fully cooperating with the detectives from the San Diego Police Department ,” Dave and Buster’s spokeswoman April Spearman said. “All of us at Dave & Buster’s are very grateful that our team members sustained only minor injuries in the incident last night, and we are keeping in close touch with them and their families.”
