Springfield teacher arrested for supplying alcohol to minors www.privateofficer.com

 

Springfield OR April 22 2012 Springfield teacher was arrested Thursday for furnishing alcohol to minors. Byron Parra, 30, is a Thurston Middle School teacher and coaches freshman basketball at Thurston High.
Springfield Police started an investigation when district employees notified the school resource officer with concerns that Parra was giving alcohol to students on his basketball team.Investigators interviewed several Thurston High School students. Investigators say Parra gave alcohol to students as recently as Spring Break 2012.

Parra was charged with three counts of furnishing alcohol to minors and was taken to the Springfield Municipal jail late Thursday evening. The police department says Parra was though to be on leave at the time of his arrest. He has since posted bail.
