Northern Kentucky police chief charged with DUI www.privateofficer.com
NEWPORT, Ky. March 3 2012(AP) – A northern Kentucky police chief has been charged with DUI after being arrested during a traffic stop.
Alexandria Police Lt. George Schreiner says officers took Wilder Police Chief Tony Rouse at about 7:30 p.m. EST Thursday after receiving a complaint about a possible drunk driver.
Schreiner did not know whether Rouse took a blood alcohol test or completed field sobriety tests.
Rouse, 48, was charged with DUI and booked in to the Campbell County jail. He was released at 12:20 a.m. Friday after posting $1,000 bond.
Mayor Stanley Turner told The Kentucky Enquirer he needed more information about what happened and to check the city’s personnel polices before taking action (http://bit.ly/ynJXtQ).
Rouse, chief of the seven-officer department for 11 years, did not return a message left at his home Friday.
