Chicago IL July 6 2010 A Downers Grove man who ran onto Wrigley Field during a Chicago Cubs game was arrested Sunday afternoon.
Thomas Berkowitz, 23, of the 5800 block of Walnut Avenue, Downers Grove, was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Sunday and cited for violating a city ordinance for illegal conduct within a sports facility, police said.
Officers responded to Wrigley Field where a team security officer told police that Berkowitz ran out into the playing field during the course of the game, police said.
Berkowitz was placed into custody and taken to the Town Hall District police station for processing, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.
The Cubs lost to the Cincinnati Reds 14-3 Sunday.
